Two Painting Classes starting in May

Introduction to Acrylic Painting & Color Theory

The aim of this course is to help get you started on your personal creative journey with acrylic paints. In this course, we will concentrate on understanding the materials and tools used with this medium, as well as explore the fundamentals of color, value, chroma and the techniques to enable you to create the illusion of 3D forms on 2D support. For the first class, all you need is a notebook and a pencil, as I will go over the supplies list with you.

When: Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., from May 9 to June 27

Continuing Your Creative Journey With Acrylics

In this course, we will continue to explore this medium and concentrate on issues like atmospheric perspective, linear perspective, composition and color schemes. We will also explore color theory more in depth, as well as experiment with ways to create more light in a painting. Each student is to bring his/her own supplies, plus a plastic table cloth.

When:  Thursday, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.,  from May 9 to June 27
